Can an EGR valve leak during a boost leak test? I wouldnt think so because its just bolted to the LIM and has 2 hoses to the intake mani. which are only open when the EGR is working, correct? Then the other line from the EGR runs to the driver side ex. manifold..which couldnt be leaking under a boost leak test.. My EGR vacuum hose is brand new, and runs straight from the top of the EGR valve itself, to the solonoid.I have a boost leak from the rear middle of the engine, and the upper intake manifold gasket is brand new (between lower and upper), as well as all injectors and rails, and orings in the fuel rails. The leak is inexcessable from the top of the engine, but its pretty loud. The car still makes good boost ~15-17psi. What could it be? All I can think of is the lower intake manifold gasket. I also have a fuel smell under the hood.. mostly under the front where the "bastard hose from hell" would reside. its under that... Heres a picture... The red circle is where the boost leak is, but lower. The blue is where the fuel smell comes from, and NO its not the hose. thats not leaking.
